Biographical Data

Karin Montin has been a freelance translator for over twenty-five years. After undergraduate work in German and Italian at McGill, she earned an M.A. in translation from the University of Montreal (1982). In 1990, she was awarded a research bursary by the British Centre for Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia. She has also studied in France and Italy. Her translations for publication include a novel, a collection of lectures, a biography, a book on spirituality, parts of several nonfiction works and a short story, as well as numerous museum exhibition descriptions and catalogues. She writes short stories, enjoys translating poetry on occasion and hopes to publish a translation of a crime novel within her lifetime.
