Biographical Data Irina Filippova is a Toronto-based freelance translator who works from English into Russian. A native of the arctic city of Murmansk, Russia, Irina began her university education in Moscow: concurrently with her studies toward a Master of Science degree in Economics in Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics, Irina pursued French translation courses at Moscow State Linguistic University. In 1994, Irina moved to the United States to begin graduate training in Business Administration at the Ohio State University. At the same time, Irina's pursuit of a linguistics career continued with advanced French translation courses at the OSU and an immersion program at Institut Lyonnais pour la Diffusion de la Langue et de la Culture Françaises. Upon her graduation with an MBA degree, Irina joined Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc. as an associate of the Capital Markets Group. After two years with JLL, Irina moved to Toronto, where she presently resides dividing her time between translating and interpreting.Translated Works
