Biographical Data

Don Wilson was born in Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland in 1938. He took a degree in Modern Languages (French & German) at Trinity College, Dublin, and after a graduate year in Paris, returned to TCD where he completed a Ph.D. in modern French literature. He taught at the University of the West Indies, in Jamaica and at the University of Liverpool, before coming to Canada in 1970 to the University of Waterloo. He took early retirement in 1996, and since then has been devoting some to literary translation (mostly non-fiction so far although he is most interested in translating fiction).
