Biographical Data

Luise von Flotow translates literary works from French and German, occasionally works in journalism, and teaches. She has worked at universities in the USA, Germany and France and is currently assistant professor for translation studies at the School of Translation and Interpretation, University of Ottawa. In 1992, her translation Deathly Delights was shortlisted for the Governor General's Award. Her academic work includes a recent book: Translation and Gender - Translating in the 'Era of Feminism' (St. Jerome Publishing, Manchester, 1997).
