The literary translation workshops held at the Bibliothèque du Plateau‑Mont‑Royal in Montréal are among the most popular events organized by the association for language professionals and the general reading public.
Since September 2010, some forty workshops have been given in French and in English by accomplished literary translators. During these informal presentations, participants learn about specific approaches to translating fiction, non-fiction and poetry. They discover the particular features of certain literary genres, such as science fiction, drama, biography, and youth literature. They gain insight into more specialized topics like co-publishing, spoken text, subtitling, and translating humour.
For the date and title of the next workshop, see our blog.
LTAC benefits from the support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal for the Plateau workshops.
