Mouth to Mouth

Once again
I walk on water
although everything happens in a train
where it's hot
I know that in setting a foot down
the river will open
everything will take flight
your fingers on my neck will end up strangling me
your eyes won't see me anymore
Despite these prophecies
we stay in the train
since there's nothing left to do
but imagine ourselves forever
captive
Take me pretending
our feet no longer touch the ground
take me on the ground
take me on the bridge
adrift
You know not the current's strength
you know nothing of my cry
my inhalation
every time you must
pull your head from the water
just to come to me
Let's imagine for a moment
what we could have become
had you consented
to holding your breath
you would have known the drunken depths and tides
small scales would have appeared
round your mouth and algae
the length of your veins
But you had to open the train doors
with all your force
since then we've left reality
must I remind you of this today
