Mouth to mouth
Once again
I am walking on water
even if this is taking place on a train
where it is hot
I know that as I step out
the river will open
everything will fly away
your fingers on my neck will end up strangling me
your eyes will no longer see me
Despite these prophecies
we stay in the train
because there is nothing else to do
but imagine ourselves held captive
for always
Take me to make believe
that our feet no longer touch the earth
take me on the earth
take me on the bridge
adrift
You don't know the current's strength
you know nothing about my cry
my breathing
every time, you had
to lift your head out of the water
to come to me
Let's imagine for an instant
what we would have become
if you had agreed
to hold your breath
you would have learned the rapture of the deep and the tides
small scales would have appeared
around your mouth and algae
along your veins
But you had to open the train doors
with all your strength
we have since stepped away from reality
do I have to remind you today
