Mouth to Mouth
Once again
I walk on water
even if it's all happening on a train
where it's hot
I know that when I put my foot down
the river will open up
everything will fly away
your fingers on my neck will end by strangling me
your eyes won't see me any more
In spite of these prophecies
we stay on the train
as there is nothing else to do
but imagine ourselves captives
for ever
Take me, pretend
that our feet no longer touch the ground
take me on the ground
take me on the bridge
off course
You don't know the strength of the current
you know nothing of my cry
my breathing
each time you have to
raise your head above the water
to come to me
Let us imagine for a moment
what we would have become
if you had agreed
to hold your breath
you would have known the intoxication of depths and tides
little scales would have appeared
around your mouth and seaweed
along your veins
But you would have had to open the doors of the train
with all your strength
we have since left reality
must I remind you today
