Ms. Himabindu Timiri

Mouth to mouth

Once again
i walk on water
though it all happens on a train
where it's hot
I know that by placing my feet on the ground
the river will open up
and all disappear
your fingers playing on my neck will strangle me
your eyes will see me no more
Despite these prophecies
we stay on the train
as there is nothing else to do
than to imagine oneself captive
forever
Take me just to make believe
that our feet don't touch the ground
take me on the ground
take me on the bridge
in abandon
You don't know the force of the current
you know nothing about my cry
my breathing
each time must
you lift your head out of water
to come till me
Let's imagine for an instant
what we would have become
had you agreed
to hold your breath
you'd have known the highs of the depths and the marshes
little scales would have appeared
around your mouth and algae
along your veins
But you had to open the doors of the train
with all your might
we have since left reality
must I remind you today
