The magazine also welcomes submissions such as book reviews (reviews of literary translations or books on literary translation), creative and critical essays on the topic of literary translation, translator profiles, interviews, and so on. For its next issue, which marks the magazine\u2019s resumption after a period of hiatus, ellipse welcomes submissions that resonate directly or indirectly with the theme of \u201cReturns\/Retours,\u201d including, but not limited to, the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homecoming; returns to origins<\/li>\n<li>Revisiting ancient texts, traditions, old ways<\/li>\n<li>Reciprocation; giving something in return<\/li>\n<li>Reappearings, resurfacings, rehappenings<\/li>\n<li>Indigenous and\/or diasporic cultural resurgence<\/li>\n<li>Returns in translation practice: retranslations, archaisms, repetitions, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The submission deadline is October 1st, 2019. Prose and non-fiction excerpts should be a maximum of 3,000 words (excluding the source text word count), double-spaced. Poetry\/verse submissions should be a maximum of 10 pages (excluding the source text page count). Critical essays should be a maximum of 3,000 words. Book reviews and other formats should be a maximum of 2,000 words. Please contact the editorial board for questions about word and page limits, and for more details regarding formats that do not fit the above categorization. Translations should be sent alongside their source texts, and documentation indicating that the translator has secured the translation rights must be provided. It is the translator\u2019s responsibility to secure translation rights; ellipse will not publish any translation for which the translator has not provided written proof that permissions have been granted. Included in a single Word document should also be the author\u2019s and the translator\u2019s bio of approximately 50 words each.<\/p>\n<p>All submissions should be sent before October 1st to the following e-mail address: <a href=\"mailto:soumissions.ellipse@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">soumissions.ellipse@gmail.com<\/a>.
