This part-time position is offered by the Literary Translators\u2019 Association of Canada (LTAC).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working with the Editor-In-Chief and the Editorial Board, the Managing Editor of <em>ellipse<\/em> manages the production of the magazine and coordinates tasks among all those involved in the preparation and production of two issues per year of <em>ellipse<\/em>. Most of the work of the Managing Editor is carried out remotely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Managing Editor Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Communication<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Managing Editor of <em>ellipse<\/em> answers emails and manages communication with contributors, editors, designers and the LTAC\u2019s Coordinator, and translates between English and French copy (e.g. Calls for Papers).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Meetings<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Managing editor coordinates the scheduling of Editorial Board meetings and keeps minutes of said meetings.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Digital <em>ellipse<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Managing Editor manages online content, updates the <a href=\"https:\/\/ellipsemag.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magazine website<\/a>, coordinates and liaises among freelance web designers, coders, server managers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Print <em>ellipse<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Managing Editor coordinates the work of graphic designers and printers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Budget<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Managing Editor updates the budget and oversees expenses, including payments to contributors, freelancers, etc.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Editorial<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Managing Editor assists with copywriting and copyediting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required skills <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>demonstrated advanced spoken and written proficiency in French and English<\/li>\n<li>working knowledge of online platforms like WordPress and SEO concepts<\/li>\n<li>ability in copywriting and copyediting in at least one of the two languages is an asset<\/li>\n<li>ability to run schedules and maintain workflow<\/li>\n<li>ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ideal for freelancers, this position will be paid at $25 per hour, based on the time required to produce and publish two issues of the magazine per year, (approximately 5 hours per week for 30 weeks)<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your resume and expression of interest along with the names and contact details of two recommenders to <a href=\"mailto:president.e@attlc-ltac.org\">president.e@attlc-ltac.org<\/a> and<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:hausnerbeatriz@gmail.com\">hausnerbeatriz@gmail.com<\/a> by <strong>August 6, 2021<\/strong>.
