Bradford remporte le Prix de la traduction John-Glassco 2023<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Montr\u00e9al, le 2 novembre 2023 &#8211; L&rsquo;Association des traducteurs et traductrices litt\u00e9raires du Canada (ATTLC) est heureuse d\u2019annoncer que le Prix de la traduction John-Glassco est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e \u00e0 D.M. Bradford, po\u00e8te et traducteur bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">La traduction de Bradford,\u00a0House Within a House,\u00a0version anglaise du livre\u00a0D\u00e9sormais, ma demeure\u00a0de Nicholas Dawson, est parue chez Brick Books. Elle \u00e9t\u00e9 choisie parmi onze premi\u00e8res traductions litt\u00e9raires vers le fran\u00e7ais ou l\u2019anglais publi\u00e9es entre le 1er\u00a0juillet\u00a02022 et le 30 juin 2023.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Le jury de s\u00e9lection \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e de Sonya Malaborza (pr\u00e9sidence), Luba Markovskaia et Simon Brown. Les trois sont traducteurices litt\u00e9raires de m\u00e9tier et membres de plein droit de l\u2019ATTLC.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Dans son \u00e9valuation de l\u2019ouvrage, le jury souligne que \u00ab\u00a0la traduction de Bradford rend la prose de Dawson avec une belle sensibilit\u00e9 po\u00e9tique sans perdre le souffle, les nuances et le jeu h\u00e9t\u00e9roglossique complexe du texte source\u00a0\u00bb. Elle s\u2019est d\u00e9marqu\u00e9e de trois autres traductions finalistes \u2013 celles de Jennifer Henderson (Dalie Giroux,\u00a0The Eye of the Master, McGill-Queen\u2019s University Press), St\u00e9phane Martelly (Kaie Kellough,\u00a0\u00c9quateur magn\u00e9tique, Tryptique) et Marie C Scholl-Dimanche (Gord Hill,\u00a0500 ans de r\u00e9sistance autochtone, Prise de parole).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Le prix John-Glassco a \u00e9t\u00e9 remis \u00e0 D.M. Bradford le samedi 28 octobre lors d&rsquo;une grande f\u00eate de la traduction \u00e0 la Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise.
