Peter Feldstein is a translator and conference interpreter with over twenty years of experience to his credit. He comes to literary translation from a broad background in the sciences and the arts, approaching each new project with rigour, curiosity, and a spirit of adventure. Close collaboration with the author, editors, and publisher of a work is a central part of his method. He also specializes in translating texts in the natural sciences and agriculture. Mr. Feldstein’s published translations include Paul Émile Borduas: A Critical Biography (Governor General’s Literary Award, 2014) and The Pauper's Freedom (Quebec Writers' Federation award for translation, 2017). His current project is a translation of Le peuple, l'État et la Guerre au Canada sous le Régime français by the late historian Louise Dechêne.
