About / Bio

Howard Scott was born in southwestern Ontario and migrated to Quebec in 1975. In 1984 he completed an M.A. in translation and women's studies at Concordia University, with a thesis on the problems of translating the critique of sexism in language in L'Euguélionne by Louky Bersianik. His translation of this book, The Euguelion, won the Governor General's Literary Award in 1997. He served as president of the LTAC from 1999 to 2001.
