About / Bio

Born in Montreal, Marie Frankland holds a Master's degree in French Studies and translates fiction, poetry and non-fiction from English to French. She also works as an adapter for dubbing studios. She won the John-Glassco Prize in 2007 and was shortlisted for the Quebec Writers’ Federation Prize for Translation in 2012. In addition to being shortlisted for the Governor General's Literary Awards in 2007, 2015, and 2023, she won the prize in 2021 for her translation of Elizabeth Smart’s Collected Poems.
