About / Bio
Sylvie Nicolas has published numerous books of prose and poetry and is the author of several books for children. She was twice short-listed for the Governor General Awards, once in 1999 for a children’s book, and again in 2009 for her translation of Newfoundland born Joel Thomas Hynes’ Right Away Monday. Poet and literary translator, Sylvie Nicolas teaches creative writing and gives public readings of her poetry. She completed a doctorate in literature (Research and creation) at Laval in 2017 and is helding the position of literary director for Les Éditions Hannenorak in Wendake since 2018.
