The deadline for the British Centre for Literary Translation’s International Summer School in Literary Translation & Creative Writing is this Monday, April 22nd.
Founded in 1989 by W.G. Sebald (1944-2001), the British Centre for Literary Translation is the premier institutional setting for the cultivation and promotion of literary translation in the United Kingdom. The Centre is housed in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. BCLT’s one-of-a-kind International Summer School in Literary Translation & Creative Writing brings approximately one hundred translators to UEA every July for an intensive week of translation and creative writing practice, plenary readings, networking and professionalization sessions aimed at practitioners of the craft in all stages of their careers.
LTAC is thrilled to announce that we will be co-sponsoring this year’s French to English & English to French workshop which will be led by member Arianne Des Rochers and which will feature the work of author Nathanaël. Workshop participants will be provided with two thematically-related excerpts from the author’s writing — one in French, the other in English. While discussions will take place in both languages, participants may choose to translate in one or both directions.
Our association will also be represented by Anne McLean who will be leading the Spanish to English workshop, featuring the work of author Lina Meruane.
